Our History
Decker Insurance Group got its start when TJ Decker began helping neighbors in Hudson find coverage they could trust. What started as one agent’s commitment to honest, personal service has grown into a team serving families and businesses across Hudson, Morenci, and the surrounding Southern Michigan communities.

Meet the Team
Jason Decker
President | CEO
Jason Decker is the third-generation leader of Decker Insurance Group, continuing the family business he joined alongside his father after graduating from Morenci High School. He became a licensed insurance agent in 1999 and took over the Hudson office in 2002, helping grow the agency into the two-location business it is today. Jason is licensed in Property & Casualty and Life Insurance and has been active in the communities Decker serves for more than two decades. Outside the office, Jason enjoys traveling with his family, spending time outdoors, cheering on the Detroit Tigers, and staying active with CrossFit. He especially enjoys helping people, teaching, and making them laugh.
Christen Stump
Vice President | Hudson Location
A Hudson native and 2001 Hudson High School graduate, Christen has spent the past 10 years building her career in insurance and is passionate about helping clients find the right coverage for their needs. She graduated with honors from Jackson College in 2016 and is licensed in Home, Auto, Life, and Health Insurance in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. Christen has also been an active member of Hudson Kiwanis since 2019. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, being outdoors, swimming, and spending time with her two children, Liam and Levi.
Tricia Houser
Agent | Morenci Location
Tricia brings five years of insurance experience to the Decker team and is licensed in Home, Auto, and Life Insurance in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. A resident of Osseo, Tricia is also an active member of Morenci Kiwanis, where she has been involved since 2021. She enjoys staying active through bowling and CrossFit and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Kathryn McArthur
Agent | Hudson Location
Kathryn joined the insurance industry after graduating from Pittsford High School in 2021 and Jackson College in 2023. With two years of experience in insurance, she is licensed in Auto and Home Insurance in Michigan and Ohio. Outside of the office, Kathryn enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with her family and pets.
Joanne Shaffer
Office Manager | Morenci Location
Joanne is a lifelong Morenci resident and has been part of the Decker Insurance team since 1990. Her years of experience and deep connection to the community make her a familiar and trusted face in the Morenci office. Joanne is also a member of the American Legion and Morenci Eagles. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and spending time with her son, Devin, and twin grandsons, Reife and Trase.
Dinah Horwath
CSR | Hudson Location
A 2024 Hudson High School graduate, Dinah is currently attending Adrian College full-time, studying Elementary Education. She also works with the Decker team as a seasonal CSR, bringing a fresh perspective and friendly presence to the Hudson office. Dinah is the daughter of Lance and Jamie Horwath and enjoys staying active and spending time with her friends and family.
